Gerbino vase, 4-5/8" (117mm) high. Gerbino built his pots in a similar way to coiling, but instead of using a long sausage of clay he added the 'fillets' one by one. The result is a three-dimensional mosaic. www.studiopottery.com/pots/03803b.html

Yvan Koenig creates seven pieces of each model: one for the Gerbino Gallery and six pieces for collectors. Each piece is signed and dated. Following Yvan's retirement announcement and the lack of an heir to carry on the family tradition, a number of museums and collectors are acquiring these exclusive mosaic creations. I have again been informed by Mr. Koenig of mistakes about the Mosaique Gerbino being confused with pottery from Italy, my apologies to Mr. Koenig and hope I've corrected the mistakes for the last time. |
